Convoy of Hope Toy Giveaway 2024

After we had already started working on our Christmas project for Canoas Elementary, Convoy of Hope contacted us with a large donation we did not expect! They gave us 1,500 toys (valued at $23,400) for school-aged children and 2,500 Bombas socks (valued at $37,500) to distribute to families who are struggling.

Since our Serving OFF the Hill team has developed partnerships with many of the local schools, low-income housing developments, and nonprofits around us, we are able to quickly get the toys to children before Christmas and invite the families to our Christmas Eve service at Church on the Hill.

Praise God for the opportunity to bring joy to those around us and make their holiday a little brighter in trying times!

UPDATE: Where did the toys go?

The 1,500 toys and 2,500 Bombas socks that we were blessed with from Convoy of Hope have all gotten to schools and nonprofits near our church! Kristin Gordon and her team of volunteers were able to quickly get the toys and socks, before school breaks for the holidays or Christmas giveaways are over, to places like:

- Canoas Elementary

- Franklin Elementary

- San Antonio Elementary

- Curtner Studios

- PATH (which runs Evans Lane, Villa, and Vela housing for formerly unsheltered)

- New Life Recovery (for those in drug recovery and their children)

- Sacred Heart

- ARISE Church

The staff at these organizations are on the front lines, ministering daily to people who are or were unsheltered folks, refugees, families with kids on the spectrum, or low-income families that might not have had enough money this month for food or to purchase toys for their children this Christmas.

How we love to be a blessing to our community!
